We take you through the Essentials of Health and how our View of Health has Changed over the Years. Learn what we Believe makes a Healthy Lifestyle.
All right. So before we dive deep into breaking down the essentials of health, I forgot last week, but I am doing it this week and we're going to be pulling a car to actually already pulled it this morning when I was doing my Roca care and Cod pulling. So what do we have today? They're good. Savoring Mars, energy, anger, conflict, softening tools. All right. So the meaning behind that, my book tells me this is a shallow card. One that may feel confrontational. Don't be afraid. It's here to bring to the surface. Anything that's standing in the way of letting love in the warring planet of Mars is our constant reminder that it's important to soften, forgive, and find our way back to. There are many things in the human experience that make it difficult for our heart and soul to stay open to the never ending source of love. We're all wounded and our unconscious wounds, inflict wounds on others. It can feel like a never ending dance. We can never escape. If we aren't careful before long, we'll say the world as a scary, dangerous place with the anxiety room. If this card surfaces, it could be for two reasons, firstly you to acknowledge the difficult emotions, situations, conflict wounds, MPS that are causing you, pain and anxiety. And secondly, for you to find your way back to love when we're hurt, it's normal to close off our heart, to the world, to let the painful experience confirm the agony of separation in earthly life soften and find your way back to love. When the anxiety and paranoia paralyze you, it's normal to want to come to hide away from others and the world come out of your cave, soften your heart. Anyway, we're all innocent children spinning out where around the world find a way to see the innocence in all people, especially yourself. How are you cutting yourself off from love? And how can you soften toward those who have hurt you? So this is going to lead into one of the essentials of being healthy, which is relationships, relationships. I play being parked cars. Yeah. I only need one bad relationship to change your mind. It also, um, what's the saying it's, it's the three, three people. Isn't the three, three people that five, five people that you hang around, a lack of your biggest influences and you end up being basically like them. So it's really important that you be so specific with the group and the circle that you surround yourself with and make sure that they are always being a positive influence of on you. Okay. Circumstances in life change and people change. And you may feel that you are no longer connected to that group or they're moving in a different direction than you. And it's okay to separate from them because at the end of the day, you need to be empowered and having the right energy. Sometimes it's at different times and because of different reasons and life might be leading you down a different track. Yeah. But it's important to really, really be conscious and aware of who you are hanging out with and make sure that it's not all give, give, give, like you're not pouring from an empty cup. Um, and that. Positivity in every relationship and it's, it's, it's like a soul circle. You're all connected and you're all there to empower and support each other. So the five people that you hang out with, think about who they are and are they impacting your life in a positive way. And if you're starting to feel a little bit negative about someone or. You've noticed that maybe they're not showing the right intentions, have a little think about whether they need to or should be in your circle anymore. And it's okay to move on from that. So the people you have in your life are really important to how your health and your wellbeing is going to be. Or I also think just taking a bit of time for yourself as well. When you get caught up in the work-life and come home, you've got to cook dinner and do all your jobs. And then you're too tired and you go to bed and wake up and do all this. Oh, you just come home from work. You walk into the kitchen. I thought you actually added muffin this afternoon, but I think maybe I just poured one that is anyways. And then you come and you lay on the bed and use past. Yes. After waking up the three clock. Yes. Oh, sorry. it's fine. So, yeah, even if it's just whether it's meditation, whether it's sitting by yourself in quiet spot for 10 minutes and breathing. Just trying to calm and focus on what you want and what really matters because your mind is so busy. Like during the day there's just so much going on. And like even, I think most people, most people before bed, they just can't switch off. Like your mind is just constantly going and it's because you've been so busy all day that you actually haven't had a chance to catch up with your thoughts or think about anything other than what you do. So before you go to bed, your brains, trying to catch up and think, okay, well, what have I done, Sarah? What else, what else do I need to do? Or, you know, like you haven't actually had that chance to just lead straight in your sleep as well. If you're all built up like that, then most of the time you won't have good sleep. And even if. Like, even if you've slept the whole time, it doesn't mean that you've actually had a restful sleep more often than not. You'll wake up. And you'll still be thinking about the thing that you were thinking about for you fell asleep. So it's really trying to unwind. Um, and I find like meditation is great for that. Even if I just do five minutes, it just, when you slow down your breath and connect your mind back to your breath and to. Not think about so many things, it really helps to calm your, I guess, on your physical body feel. Yeah. Waving things. We enjoyed some stuff. Yeah, I've been listening to, I think it's purely being on Spotify. They've got really good meditation ones also. Um, Jess Mayberry, she is one of the, um, so her and her mom owned Miami, but Jess may Brie has a private, I think Facebook group as well. And she does really, really good meditations on there. And they're just really great to unwind and just connect yet. What you said your mind back to. So then that leads on to physical or I part of my health or would wouldn't be able to move physically for the rest of my life, but I want to be, if that would be effected in any way. And obviously you won't feel perfect all the time, but if you just do the little things every day and you move, it might only be going for a walk. Some days it might be going for a run, might be doing. It doesn't have to be the same thing every day, but as long as you're going out there and doing something for yourself and just because, just because like, you didn't do a high intensity workout or you don't get sore from workout, it doesn't mean that you haven't done anything for your body and you don't have to do high intensity all the time. Like people has had this vision that they have to go five days a week workout. 30 to an hour. And it has to be really, really hard. People put more importance in a high intensity work here than they do in meditation or stretching or taking some time out. And. It's all, it's all equally as important. Like if you don't have, if you're really stressed person and you're going to go and do a high intensity work yet, it's actually going to be less beneficial for you because you just in a constantly high stress state all the time. So if you have had a really, really crazy day at work and you're really stressed, actually, what more might be more beneficial for you is to do a meditation or do a yoga or go for a walk. So. Yeah, exercise or moving physically isn't defined as like a high intensity workout. It can be going for a walk. It can even just like doing stretches in nature would be a form of movement. Yeah. I find just getting, yeah. If it's boy yourself, or if it's, Patna just going for a walk in nature, natural sitting outside, going down the veggie patchworks may tell you. Your date over your phone, you don't have, um, technology to distract you. It's just being in the moment, leaving the fresh air. Yeah, like I was in my kitchen today and I was making all the muffins and I was looking at, across all the hedges and at my swinging chair and the birds were seeing, and it was just so. Nice. And like I said to Josh, it was like serenity and it was just beautiful. And it's just little moments where if you just stop in your day and you look up, cause you don't often realize how much we look down as well, like being on the computer, being on your phone. Um, just looking down at the ground and even with like the whole COVID thing as well. There's so many people that just look down like with don't connect eyes with people so stopped during the day. Look around at everything, take in everything that's around you and people. One thing in that environment that is positive black. If you're in your office, look up, look at it. The sad, um, yeah, just find something that's positive in that moment because we just need to stop being so stuck in technology and so stuck in our heads. We need to really look at what's around us and appreciate our surreal. Doing your gratitude, you three things you're grateful for in those moments. Just resets your mindset to, okay. That's very good. What three things are you grateful for? Let's stop. Pause. Gratitude moment. Graduated moment. You guys do it with us. We're going to say three things that we're grateful for, and then you're going to say it. All right, Jay dawg, you're on what three things are you grateful for? I am grateful that it did rain today, so I could work in the sun and get some stuff done. Um, I'm grateful for my mornings, cause I just love him. He gives me a chance to have time yet myself and my lovely. We'll say, picking your peas and strawberries from the veggie patch and beans, and we've got egg. So I got five eggs this morning and then just collected another one. So we've got six eggs. We've got like, he hates it. Peas, beans, and yes, strawberries. That was really not. I am grateful for. It's so hard because like I do my gratitude every morning and I don't like, I think of the same things all the time and I'm like, oh, am I allowed to think of the same things? Or does it have to be different? But it's what I'm grateful. I am grateful for sunshine. I'm grateful for knowledge, like I'm grateful for learning and having the ability to be able to have so many resources to learn from, because I just love learning more about health and fitness and our bodies. Um, and I'm grateful that we're able to sit down as husband and wife and do a podcast together. Well, it would be, my eyes are a little bit. Let's put a picture of what we look like right now. I mean, my Peter Alexander, if you don't know what that is, then unfriend me, Peter Alexander pajamas pajamas, but long socks on in bed. Yeah. And you're actually half day since. Usually, usually in jokes and stuff anyways. Okay. Well, let's come back to our centers of health. We've done our gratitude for the day and hopefully you started have you, so what is one thing only one thing that you would pick for your mental health daily? You would recommend to people to do, or I would just say take time out for yourself, whether it's 15, 20 minutes, just be by yourself, breathe most of the time when I'm just driving in the work or I won't put any music on largest B and. It starts to die off slow when I'm not putting in music. It just calms me down and lasers me into it all. I can think what I want to think. Um, prepare myself for the day and what I've got to do, and just puts me in a good mindset. What's yours. I feel like I've really, I really would recommend to anyone to start to do meditation because I was always that person and it's taken me a while to change, but I was always that person that would put more value in doing the high intensity class. To do a yoga class. It was like the most boring thing of my life. And at the end of yoga, you do a meditation. I would literally leave before the meditation because it was so boring. I hate being slow. But I think until you actually understand and feel the benefits from meditation, yeah. It's such a great practice. You feel so much lighter. You connect with your body and you just feel every part of your body, you can start to feel where there might be aggravation or what might mean working on. And like, I love also the meditate, cause there's so many different meditations you can do. So I seriously recommend dropping on Spotify or somewhere that you can do guided meditation because I personally cannot do. I can't just sit there and meditate. Like if I was to sit there, I just sit outside in a sudden listening to the birds. I love the guided meditations where you do lack visioning. I don't know what it's really what it's called, but it's where you, you take yourself somewhere else. And it's like, I just remember. Yeah. I remember once where I'd just be sitting there and overlooking the beach and like I had a massage, um, by crystal and she would actually do a little meditation at the end and she would say, imagine the light coming in through your body as you breathe. And then when you breathe out, you're breathing out like the darkness and you have all that visualization. It's just takes your mind away from everything and you just feel so connected to your body and you can create a whole new world for yourself. Anyways, that's probably getting a little bit to date for some people, but my number one tip would be meditation guided meditation. I'm on Facebook. We, Jess may Bri or Spotify with purely. So you're on different. I I'd actually prefer two more meditation just to see the lights, whether it's sitting, listening to the wind, the trees, the birds, or the beach. If we were at the beach. I feel that though, that's, that's more to slow the mind. Like, I don't think you've ever done a meditation where you've you go out and it's like an out of body experience and then you're in another space. It's like, you're not actually here when you do that. It's like, it's, it's an incredible feeling. So you're talking about a different kind of meditation. I feel. Um, anyway, so that is one thing that I would definitely do for mental health. Um, but yeah, really taking the time out for yourself. And I know like everyone says, oh, but we don't have time. Honestly, you do have time. It's what you're putting your value into. If you valued your mental health, you would put five minutes daily into doing something. Actually both slept all night last night until it was like six 30. And I was like, oh, I could have got up early, but no, when you children's day or night, you want to sleep in. Anyways, I find a different time. You're a morning person. I'm not, I'll find a time in the day. Actually. I did do 12 minutes today of meditation. I lit my smudge stick, smudged it all around the room, put my candles on, put my crystals down and I did a 12 minute meditation and it was fabulous. Beautiful. So what would be one tip you would give to your. Okay. I'm going to put this as an overall and because it kind of comes back to my skin and everything, but just to stop caring about what other people think. Like I put so much value in, oh my gosh, what are they looking at? Are they looking at musky? And are they thinking about me? Like, am I skinny enough? And I just put so much, I put so much value in other people's opinions. Yeah. And I feel like now, like my skin's not perfect, but I actually, I think, I think to be honest at the moment, I, it's not what other people care about. It's actually more for me, whereas before I'd be like, oh, what did they think about? Whereas now, I want to heal that for myself. So I'm not so much worried about what other people are thinking about. I'm like, okay, well, what can I do to fix it now? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So I think if I was to give advice to my 18 year old self is just to stop worrying so much about what other people think. Because at the end of the day, everybody is so busy in their own worlds. They're actually not thinking about you. They're only thinking about themselves. So yeah. The person you can be for you and your family and friends. You have to be healthy within yourself before you can be good for anyone else, because if you're all stressed and worked up, then you're going to drive that into the other relations. Well, and stress is a big pillar of your health as well. Like stress is one of the biggest causes of diseases these days, whether you want to believe it or not, stress has a huge impact on the way that your body functions and there's diseases that it's going to bring out. And that's why if I get really stressed, my skin reacts because it's an inflammation response happening because of my stress levels. So. Yeah, stress is something that we all really need to work on. And that's why taking time out for yourself and doing meditation and things like that is a really, really important thing for your health
